Lights, camera and action
Abstract
Astute teachers are using film and digital technologies to promote learning and to find the next generation of film-making talent. This article provides an insight into TROP Jr, the world's largest short film festival for children, by children. The festival is a collaboration between Tropfest and the Australian Television Children's Foundation (ACTF). Finalists were chosen for their creativity, expressive communication and film-making skill, and their entries are described. According to the festival director, John Polson, 'the incredible range of creativity by our young entrants bodes well for the future of Australia's film industry'. [Author abstract, ed]
