This address was presented at the Australian College of Educators (ACE) Gala Dinner and Awards evening, held in Sydney on 11 November 2019, to celebrate 60 years since the founding of the College.

Abstract

This address draws on the review of the New South Wales Curriculum, and outlines a new vision for the school curriculum. The urgency of school reform is underscored by the high levels of student disengagement and their questioning of the relevance of education, as well as the dramatic decline in achievement of minimal standards.
